Chairman's Message

It gives me immense pleasure to note that St. Thomas' School, Shimla, is going to complete 100 years of its foundation on 29th June, 2012. The celebration of a century of journey in the life of any institution is a major landmark. A centenary is a time of great rejoicing because it gives us an opportunity to thank God for His abundant blessings showered on people through the school; for touching lives and transforming them; for sustaining the School through difficult times.

This is a time when we remember, with gratitude, all the principals, teachers and other staff who served this institution with great sincerity and commitment. We also remember the Church Leaders and member of civil society who extend their help, guidance and care to the School selflessly.

St. Thomas' School is committed to high quality holistic education for all-irrespective of caste, creed or religion with special concern for the economically backward people. One must appreciate that this task has not been easy, especially at a time when education has become highly competitive and, to a great extent, commercialized. We solicit the cooperation and contribution of Government of Himachal Pradesh and the civil society to strengthen the School administration so that the School could move to great heights.

I congratulate Mrs. Vidhupriya Chakroborty for successfully steering the School to tremendous improvement within such a short span of time. May God continue to bless the St. Thomas' School in its future journey making it a beacon of light not only for Shimla but also for Himachal Pradesh and beyond!

Let us join with King David in a thanksgiving prayer as written in the book of Psalms 96:1-6:

"Come, let us sing for the joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hands are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker..."

May God bless St. Thomas' School !
